Conflicts of interest

United Purpose is committed to acting ethically and in a manner that promotes honesty, fairness, accountability and objectivity. Trustees and staff have a legal obligation to act in the best interests of United Purpose, and in accordance with our organisation’s governing document.

Conflicts of interests can arise where an individual’s personal, family or close relatives interests and loyalties conflict with those of United Purpose. Such conflicts can create problems. They can inhibit free discussion, lead to decisions being made or actions taken that are not in the best interests of United Purpose, and can risk the impression that United Purpose has acted improperly.

Our Conflict of Interest policy aims to protect both the organisation and the individuals involved from any appearance of impropriety.
