Improving communities’ access to clean water during the COVID-19 emergency
The global community is racing to slow down and eventually halt the spread of COVID-19, a pandemic that has claimed hundreds of thousands of lives and sickened 12.5 million people. In Africa, the virus has spread to dozens of countries within weeks. Governments and health authorities across the continent are striving to limit widespread infections. As of July 13th, 2020, The Gambia has reported 64 confirmed cases of COVID-19, with Senegal (The Gambia’s only immediate neighbour) recording 7,882 cases.
